The reader in me

Since I started reading about Om Swami , I just want to read more and more. I want to read all that he has ever written, hear all those lectures he ever delivered.

My thirst to read has profoundly increased and all that I can think of is to read and read. I don't recall having this kind of urge to read ever in my life. Of course, I was very much attracted to Sister Shivani's lectures(BrahmaKumaris) and after listening to them for a while, somehow I concluded that the moral of the story is same in all the lectures and there was nothing new for me to know. Well, knowing and implementing are two different things and I have never been completely successful at practically practicing the knowledge that I had gained.

This time I hope that my urge to know more doesn't die and also not stop at just reading/listening. I really want to put the knowledge gained to use, to lead a more happy peaceful life!

My Bundle of Joy

When I sit back and introspect myself sometimes, I realize that I have not been a very optimistic kind of a person. I’ve probably spent my time highlighting my issues more than recollecting happy moments of my life. However, this behavior of mine has started to change since the arrival of my son “Rishi”. There hasn’t been a single day so far that I forgot to be happy for few moments every day when I hold him in my hands. I had given up the practice of worshipping God every day but my son’s presence has filled me with so much of gratitude that I do not forget to “Thank God” every single day for blessing me with the most beautiful gift of my life. His smile can make me forget all my pain. I can go on and on describing this wonderful feeling called “motherhood”. I’m glad that I’ve been alive to experience this, I’m glad that I’m a woman.

Sms...sms

On 26th Jan 2010, I was @ my parent's place watching "Malgudi days" and I received a sms. I was surprised to read the message which said my number was recharged for 55 INR. Initially I thought that my husband might have recharged my number but then he confirmed that he didn't. I continued watching the serial and then received a call from an unknown number. Guess who was it??? :D

The caller on the other end said that his phone number differs from mine by just one number and hence...u know wot happened! I assured him that I'll get his number recharged whenever it is feasible for me.

Now, the story doesn't end here. In the evening, actually it was around 9PM, my husband got his number recharged although the denomination was 100 INR instead of 55 INR. Reason...the talk time. For some strange reason, the shopkeeper made my husband believe that the talk time for 55 Rs is 3 Rs only. Henceforth his number was recharged for 100 INR, of course with my consent. :P I dropped a msg to the person whose number differed from mine by a digit to check his balance.

Next day morning, again to my surprise, my number got recharged for another 50 Rs. :)
